Al Pescatore – A Legacy of Excellence Since 1989
Established on May 1, 1989, by Trevor Wolf and his family, Al Pescatore is the oldest restaurant in Ballito and an iconic destination known for its unique dishes, breathtaking sea views, and exceptional service. What started as a tiny trattoria in the heart of Ballito has since evolved into the magnificent restaurant it is today.

Humble Beginnings to a Thriving Legacy
Trevor, his wife Jenny, and their partners opened Al Pescatore in the Boulevard Center, one of only two restaurants in Ballito at the time. Initially a quaint pizzeria, the menu focused on a few classic dishes—mainly pizzas and pastas. As Ballito grew, so did the restaurant, incorporating Mediterranean flavors into its offerings.

Just five years after opening, Trevor and Jenny became the sole owners of Al Pescatore, marking a new chapter in its journey.

A New Era Begins
In 2000, an exciting opportunity allowed them to relocate from their tiny 54-seater space to a larger, more refined setting. With unwavering support from their loyal customers, they expanded the restaurant further—introducing an ocean-facing deck, later extending it to wrap around the building for unparalleled sea views. Today, Al Pescatore seats over 200 guests, offering a dining experience unlike any other.

The Future of Al Pescatore
In 2023, Nicole, Trevor and Jenny’s daughter, joined as a partner, ensuring the restaurant’s legacy continues for another 35 years. With a deep passion for food and hospitality, she is dedicated to preserving Al Pescatore’s tradition of excellence while steering it into a bright future.

From its humble beginnings to its iconic status, Al Pescatore remains a beloved landmark in Ballito, where every meal is served with history, passion, and a spectacular view.
