Description

Yoli’s Artisan Bakery, nestled in The Market at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre in KwaZulu-Natal, is a family-run artisan bakery and café co-founded by pastry chef Nicky Cooper and her husband Derryn. The bakery celebrates traditional, scratch-based baking methods, never premixes, using only real, locally sourced ingredients such as stoneground flour, butter, and eggs. With a charming open kitchen and a gorgeous display line, the ambiance is warm and inviting, reflecting a modern twist on old-fashioned craftsmanship.

After a period focused on wholesale, Nicky and Derryn reignited their passion for hands-on creation, reintroducing a range of up to 60 varieties of breads, from enriched doughs and brioches to dessert-style focaccias. Standouts include seasonal specials like cinnamon-spiced sourdough and almond Florentine focaccia, described as “more cake than bread.” They also craft compound butters—such as honey cinnamon-spice and basil pesto olive, to pair with their loaves.

Yoli’s is where passion, tradition, and creativity meet, providing the Ballito community with artisanal breads and pastries baked daily with heart.
